Yes. While Omaha ForUs is specifically focused on LGBTQ+ individuals and families, any non-LGBTQ+ person is welcome to visit the center. A number of program offerings will be open and available to the entire community, and our Families of LGBT+ Individuals Support Group is specifically designed with non-queer folks in mind. Please remember this is first and foremost an LGBTQ+ focused space, and any disruption to this effort will result in an invitation to leave. Follow our simple community guidelines posted in the Center and we can ensure it stays true to our mission. We would welcome non-LGBT+ individual members or small groups to be mindful of touring the space during peak times to try to eliminate the "fishbowl effect" for our community members who are sometimes navigating trauma and challenging personal circumstances.

Having access to the care LGBTQ+ people NEED is not “special” care, it’s just care. Most LGBTQ+ people don’t have access to knowledgeable providers or affirming care. Providers are not required to receive training or education in caring for non-heterosexual, non-cisgender identities and/or bodies. This results in poor health outcomes. We can change all of that with an LGBTQ+ center that professionalizes and operationalizes LGBTQ+ care of all kinds, FOR US!
