Best Life Behavioral Health
& Wellness

Live your best life with options that best fit your mental health needs. We currently offer individual therapy sessions and a range of support groups.

Therapy Services

Our therapy services provide LGBTQ+ people with an affirming physical and emotional environment. Together, we'll work through everyday problems and stressors.

Our mental health health therapist, CJ Elliott, PLHMP, PCMSW, is NOW ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS. Please call (402) 898-1113 to complete the intake process and schedule an appointment. All in-person appointments will take place at our Verve Collaborative Health satellite office.

  • We have partnered with Verve Collaborative Health to help reach a broader audience of LGBTQ+ individuals needing therapy services. Call their intake line at (402) 898-1113, ask for CJ Elliott, and their intake coordinators will help you. The intake process will identify your unique needs. If a different provider is more appropriate for those needs, or we've reached appointment capacity, we may refer you to one of our trusted, local partners.

  • Coverage varies by plan. Check your benefits from your specific plan.

Support Groups

Support groups offer LGBTQ+ participants a space to create connections and build hope. Currently, our mental health practitioner and a topic-related professional co-facilitate all groups.

We determine the frequency and topics of support groups based on participants’ interests and our facilitators’ capacity. We may offer more frequent meetings or expanded topics in the future.

Some support groups require registration, which is noted in their descriptions.

Please be on time for support groups, as late admittance is not permitted due to its disruptive nature.

  • This is a social support group specifically for LGBTQ+ teens 13-19.

No registration is required. Each participant is required to fill out an emergency contact form upon entrance.

Please visit omahaforus.org/events for specific meeting times.

  • This virtual support group is for caregivers and other adult family members of LGBTQ+ folks of any age.

This group is hosted every 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00-8:30 on Zoom.

To receive a Zoom link, for the next group, email bestlife@omahaforus.org

  • This support group is for adult LGBTQ+ folks who have lost someone to suicide.

This group is hosted the third Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m.

Registration and intake with co-facilitators is required prior to attendance.

Email bestlife@omahaforus.org for your intake for this group.

  • This is a mental health support group for LGBTQ+ adults ages 19+ focused on the intersections of mental health and LGBTQ+ identity.

This group is hosted the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Registration is required and opens the Thursday before each group. Please visit omahaforus.org/events to register for the next group.

Find Support Now

We've created a toolkit with mental wellness and crisis resources for you and those you support. This does not replace professional mental health services, but it can serve as one of many tools when considering or waiting for these services.

If you or a loved one is in need of an emergency response, please call or text 988 for mental health- and suicide-related support.

Don’t forget, Omaha ForUs is more than the Best Life program — we have a clothing closet, food pantry and other events and services. Contact us or visit our center at 3337 N. 107th Street Tuesday through Friday for more information.
